In honor of baseball season starting again, we decided to take a look at our top ten caps for each level of the minor leagues. This week covers Single-A teams, Double-A will be next week, followed by Triple-A and ending with our Top Ten list for all of Minor League Baseball. The Hartford Yard Goats stadium situation has been one of the most interesting stories in Minor League Baseball for over a year. 

After spending the 2016 season on the road, the Yard Goats weren't certain they would have a home for Opening Day this year. The newest contractors promised to have the stadium ready by April, but the city had heard that narrative before.

Every season, the Fresno Grizzlies, the Triple-A affiliate of the Houston Astros, change their name to the Fresno Tacos in what is one of the best theme nights in all of sports.

This year, they went big and actually bought the taco emoji, which was announced last Tuesday along with the uniforms that the team would be wearing for the game.

Rumble Ponies, Baby Cakes, Jumbo Shrimp, and Fire Frogs. These are the four new nicknames for Minor League Baseball teams headed into the 2017 season. Are they different, more outrageous names? Yes. However, when Minor League Baseball is full of names like Biscuits, Mud Hens, Isotopes, Yard Goats, and Muck Dogs, teams have to find a way to get their brand to stand out, even if it is controversial.
